This morning Maple Class went to Forest School. They had a great time in the woods and drinking hot chocolate to keep warm.

This week the children in Maple Group have been preparing for Christmas. They started by making their own Christmas place mats for the school christmas dinner. We definitely have some artistic children in Maple Group.
Week Beginning 09.12.19

This week was very busy for Maple Group. On Monday we all went to the Food Bank in Woking where the children were shown around by a lady that works there. They were each taken back into the store room where they were able to donate their items and put them on the correct shelf. Wednesday saw us going on our last Forest School. The children had a great time as usual. On Friday we went on an outing to West Byfleet Park. The children were able to run around and had a great time climbing and swinging.
Christmas Activity Afternoon 2019

On Tuesday afternoon we were lucky enough to be joined by the parents of the children in Maple Group. They had a choice of activities to do, from making their own elf to creating their own Christmas crackers and Reindeer. The children loved showing their mums and dads around their classroom and sharing the activities with them.
Shopping at Asda 28.11.19

Today the children in Maple went shopping in Asda to buy some supplies for the local food bank. The children had a lesson on why people would need to use a food bank and then we set off for the shops. They were split into three groups and the children were each given a list of things to buy. The children did a great job shopping and making sure that they found everything on their lists.
Food Tech 27.11.19

This week in Food Tech the children made marshmallow Crispy cakes. They had a great time measuring out the rice crispys and mixing in the melted marshmallows. The children then separated the mixture into cases and decorated them when they had cooled down.
Forest School 20.11.19

This week in Forest School the children made boats out of twigs, corks and elastic bands and put them in the stream to see if they would float. They were all able to then have a hot chocolate to warm up. They all had a great time.

Today in PE the children were separated into groups and then took part on the obstactle course, on the bikes or climbing on the apparatus.
Outing to Asda 15.11.19
This morning the children in Maple class went on an outing to Asda. They were tasked with finding things that were certain shapes. The children were looking for Cubes, cuboids, Triangular Prisms and lots more. They all had a great time pointing out the different shapes that they had found.
Maths 14.11.19

Today in Maths the children made 3D shapes out of marshmallows and cocktail sticks. They made cuboids, cubes, pyramids and prisms in groups. They then counted how many vertices, shapes and edges each shape had. Some of the children even tried to make a dodecahedron which was very complicated.
Maths 12.11.19
Today in our maths lesson the children split into three groups. They each took a turn at addition and subtraction whilst playing a fishing game, playing snakes and ladders and doing some maths using a number square. The children all really enjoyed this.

Today in outing recall the children typed up what they remembered from their outing into Woking. They also looked up the price of some items online and drew pictures about their favourite thing about the outing.
Halloween Art 24.10.19
The children had great fun making pumpkins and skeletons in art today.
Fairoaks Airport 27.09.19
Today Maple class went on a trip to Fairoaks Airport to have a look at the planes. They each completed a survey and totalled up the number of planes that they saw on the day.
Southwoods Woodland Walk 18.10.19

Today we went into the woods for a lovely walk. The children had a fantastic time following the train and exploring the areas around them. We also collected some stones that we could bring back to school to paint.
Virginia Water 04.10.19

Our outing today was to Virginia Water Lake where we went to look at the waterfall. While we were there, we were very excited to see a film being shot. The children spent a lot of time trying to guess what sort of film it was.
The Lookout 06.11.19
The children made another visit to The Lookout. This time we went for a lovely walk in the woods before stopping for a play on the castle and some lunch. The children then took part in a game of hide and seek.

Today the children were lucky enough to go on an all day trip to The Lookout. They all had a fantastic time taking part in the activities.
Forest School 02.10.19
Today at Forest school the children went fishing for ducks in the stream and then made animals out of clays and sticks.

The children love going to Forest school. This week the children particularly enjoyed having a hot chocolate after their time in the woods.

Again this week the children used lots of different apparatus to practice their fine and gross motor skills. They all had a great time taking part and particularly enjoyed the giant ball.
